“Financial Keys Initiative” Empowers Vulnerable Community Members with Essential Fiscal Skills
As a tool in our long-term strategies to end chronic homelessness in Atlanta, 3Keys supports its residents through our Financial Keys Initiative. This specialized program empowers those experiencing homelessness with tools and skills to improve their financial stability.
Ensuring a stable financial future reduces the risk that individuals may return to homelessness or experience a financial crisis. Through training on budgeting, saving, debt management, and credit building, participants develop a personalized budget, improve their ability to manage their finances independently, and reduce their financial stress.
Components of the Financial Keys Initiative include:
- Workshops: A series of interactive workshops covering key financial topics, facilitated by experienced financial educators from our banking institution partners. Workshops are offered both in-person and virtually to ensure accessibility.
- Personalized Financial Counseling: 1:1 sessions where clients can receive tailored advice and develop individualized financial plans.
- Resource Distribution: Participants receive financial tools and resources, including budgeting templates, access to financial management applications, and informational materials to support their learning.
- Follow-Up Support: Continuous support and check-ins to monitor progress, answer questions, and provide additional resources as needed.
The Financial Keys Initiative seeks to break the cycle of poverty and housing insecurity. With continued collaboration, the program will serve as a catalyst for broader community impact, ensuring that the benefits of financial literacy extend beyond the program participants to the wider community.

The Financial Keys Initiative aims to support those experiencing homelessness with another avenue towards stability.
